Chrismont La Zona Pinot Grigio 2009 With a climate and landscape so similar to Piemonte, Tuscany and Alsace, the King Valley's long summer days enable the Pinot Grigio to achieve complete flavour ripeness which gives lovely fruit richness to this stewed apple, quince and pear flavoured wine. "More gris than grigio with grilled peach, burnt butter, and some matchstrike, cooler raspberry smells too. A luscious rounded front palate with flavours of custard apple and toasted almonds, acid is firm and structured with a dry and lasting finish. A sensuous white wine to accompany light game, pasta or desserts with a fresh fruit orientation.

Lawsons Dry Hills Pinot Gris 2008 Sourced from the low yielding Hutchison vineyard in the Wairau Valley. Slow ripening and wonderful flavour development, extensive leaf plucking and crop thinning has yielded a Pinot Gris with great complexity and a lovely texture that comes from concentrated fruit, subtle oak, malo influence and lee stirring. an intense wine with texture and complexity, a little barrel fermentation, hints of apples, toffee and nuts, a firm, slightly hot finish. The affect of lees stirring is particularly evident on the long creamy finish.
