Lavender Hill is named after a stand of native shrub in the hills alongside the Jim Barry winery. Jim Barry The Lodge Hill Riesling 2008 Jim Barry acquired the Lodge Hill vineyard in 1977, as he was sure it would produce some of the best Riesling wines. Situated on the eastern ranges of the township of Clare, it is one of the highest vineyards in the Valley at an altitude of 480 metres, and is ideal for producing steely, minerally Rieslings, distinctive to the area. The palate has a pristine clarity, line and length with augmented intense flavour of passionfruit, lemon, lime, with background nuances of guava, strawberry, and rosewater. Made in a dry, kabinett style with terrific finish, the palate is dry and mineral.

Jim Barry Watervale Riesling 2009 The tiny village of Watervale, population 246 and just south of Clare township, is internationally renowned for the quality of its Riesling. It has long delivered some of the nation's most distinguished and memorable wines. The palate is pleasingly quenching, mouthwatering and approachabe in it's youth with well balanced acids. A palate full of fruit and textures with the underlying complexity of lanolin and florals, stonefruits and pawpaw.
