dArenberg Galvo Garage Cab Franc Merlot Verdot 2006 The Garagists are producers in Bordeaux making great wines in their garage outside of the Appellation Controlee system. They are produced in the shed or garage of boutique winemakers dedicated to making small-volume wines of the highest quality. Green runner-bean and fine-toasted, French oak, cedar notes come through as the wine opens. The palate is ripe and has an impressive elegance upon entry and then you are struck with the overwhelming complexity and presence.

David Traeger Cabernet Merlot 2003 Cellared by David Traeger until recent release, the 2003 has developed beautifully and expresses a sensational growing season . Cabernet Sauvignon, with a dash of Petit Verdot, and a larger proportion of Merlot has been matured for twelve months under a combination of good French Nevers oak hogsheads, yielding a complex wine with an earthy palate and well evolved, aged flavours. The complexity of the blend comes through with hints of wet earth and truffle, chocolate and tobacco. On the tongue are flavours of red currant and blackberry, stewed cranberries and fruit preserves, the sweet and savoury flavours are well supported by good oak hints.

Moss Wood Amys Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 A base of Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller components of Petit Verdot, Malbec or Merlot. As the vineyards that supply these grapes have matured, the yields of the different varieties have varied and so the percentages in the finished wines have also changed. The pretty fruit aromas are further complemented by spicy, perfumed chalky oak characters. Full body and sweet round flavours of cherry and other dark fruits, as well as melted chocolate, make the wine instantly appealing and easy to drink and is further complemented by well balanced tannins.

Parker Estate Terra Rossa Cabernet 2005 Parker Estate was built from the ground up in the right way, with the intent to produce just this style of wine. Established in 1985 by an old hand within the industry, quality winemaking was the only priority and commercial constraints played no part in the development.
