The exhalted Laira Vineyard was established in 1893 atop Coonawarra’s Terra rossa and forms the core of some of McWilliam's most prestigious editions. Fermented for seven days, pressed off skins while still slightly sweet into Fench and American oaks for primary and malolactic fermentation, followed by twenty one months maturation. The wine was racked, barrel to barrel, by hand to achieve good clarity and development. A good lesson about life at 15.0% alcohol.
